Worship This Fall

During Advent our worship will prepare us for the coming of the Christ who is already present in our lives, but hopeful will be present in a new and deeper way if we prepare ourselves. Each week we’ll focus on a different dimension of Christ’s presence in our lives.
The themes, scripture, sermon and anthem for each Sunday of Advent are:
 November 28: Being/Becoming a People of Hope
            Scripture: Isaiah 2:1-5; Matthew 24:36-44
            Meditation: Hope for the Present
Anthem: “The Coming of the Lord” by Pepper Choplin
December 5: Being/Becoming a People of Peace
            Scripture: Isaiah 11:1-10; Matthew 3:1-12
Meditation: A Peace More Than Peace
Anthem: “Light of Peace” by Joel Raney
December 12: Being/Becoming a People of Justice
            Scripture: Matthew 11:2-11; Luke 1:47-55
            Meditation: Justice for the Lowly
Anthem: “Emmanuel” by Michael W. Smith
December 19: Being/Becoming a People of Faith
            Scripture: Isaiah 7:10-16; Matthew 1:18-25
            Meditation: Faith in Action
Anthem: “Come Though Long Expected Jesus” arr. By David G. Shreiner
