Fall Worship
September 13 is the date to circle on your calendar! Sure, we want you here every Sunday, but September 13 is a special Sunday. It’s the beginning of Sunday school and the day the choir returns and once again makes its great contribution to our experience of worship.
The theme for worship that day is “Denying, Losing and Saving.” We’ll be looking at some of Jesus’ familiar sayings about these things and what they mean for us as disciples and as a community of faith.
September 20 will be a special hymn sing service based on the theme “This is Our Story, This is Our Song.” We’ll sing some old hymns and reflect on the ways in which they express our life of faith as Christian.
On September 27 we’ll turn to the book of Esther in the Old Testament to discover the bold faith of this woman and the difference her boldness makes in our own lives.
Our focus throughout the fall will be on the gospel of Mark, with occasional excursions into several Old Testament passages about the faithfulness of women. Here’s a look at what our worship themes, scriptures and sermon titles will be:
